Deb Fleck-Stabley was born in Ambler, PA, graduated from Millersville University-1980 with a BS in Art Ed and from The University of NE -Lincoln with a MA in Curriculum and Instruction-1984. She and her husband, David, formed Creative Clay Works in 1984 and began their professional career as artists at that time. Deb has shown and sold work in numerous retail and wholesale venues, been represented by galleries across the country, participated in numerous juried exhibitions, taught in a variety of settings, including Pennsylvania College of Technology,  has moved the arts forward while volunteering in community projects, events, programs and activities, and has been a member of two cooperative galleries.

Artist's Statement

My interest in making things began early in life as the creative urges couldn't be ignored! I can't imagine having lived a life without art as it has mesmerized, inspired,consoled, frustrated and supported me. I've tried to be original and true to myself in my artistic pursuits.Nature sustains me and that's very evident in my work. My frustration with the human ego can show up, as well. 

I've worked predominantly with clay over the years, both functionally and non-functionally, but have also moved freely into 2-d and 3-d directions, as I'm never satisfied to stay put for very long. I've used wood, cloth, paint, colored pencil, bone, upcycled books, fabric, metal and other materials, over the years, to express myself.
